Alexus - Thank you for joining our community and we want to be of help to you. We are sorry to hear about your son in laws fight with non- Hodgkin's Lymphoma(NHL). I want to give you some background regarding this type of cancer, its risk factors and things we do here at the Prather Wellness Center to help balance the body.
Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is the fifth most common cancer in the United States, and the number of cases diagnosed has increased by nearly 50 percent in the past fifteen years. It is more common in males than females.
The lymphatic system is a key player in the body's immune system. This system is made up of a circuitry of vessels that branch out and spread to all of the body's tissues---much like blood vessels do. Lymph is a colorless fluid that contains lymphocytes, which fight infection. In NHL, the body's ability to fight off infection is significantly decreased because fewer than normal white blood cells are produced. In addition, the cancer can spread through the lymphatic vessels to other parts of the body. Areas of proliferation are the lymph nodes, bone marrow, spleen, liver, and G.I. tract.
Risk factors for NHL are:
1. suppressed immune system
2. viral infections
3. bacterial infections
4. exposure to herbicides, pesticides or black hair dye
5. a diet high in red meat
6. AIDS
7. immune-depressing therapies
CHOP 21(Chemotherapy) is the standard treatment for aggressive non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and has been shown to be beneficial for outcome. Along with this standard medical treatment I would highly recommend the following:
1. Boosting the immune system
2. Eliminating any infections that may be lingering in the body
3. Detoxifying the body and detoxification pathways
4. Prevent or correct Anemia
5. Give minerals to change p.H. of cancer cells
6. The diet should be low in animal protein and fat and high in fiber
7. no sugar, no coffee, alcohol should be avoided
8. Implement the 5 day food rotation diet(More to come on this)
If you have further questions regarding any of this information please don't hesitate to ask. I would be interested in knowing what he has done for treatment thus far. Please keep us posted and let us know how we can help.
Yours for better health,
Dr. Robert C. Prather
